In celebration of its 7th anniversary, themed “Just Say Yes”, Wapa di Ume Sidemen carried out a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative through a House Renovation Program, aimed at helping underprivileged residents in the Sidemen area obtain a decent and comfortable living space.

This activity represents Wapa di Ume Sidemen’s ongoing commitment to making a positive contribution to its surrounding community. The House Renovation Program marks the resort’s first initiative of its kind, reflecting its genuine care and gratitude toward the local community that has been an integral part of its journey and success over the past seven years.

Mr. Gede Paskara Karilo, Managing Director of Wapa di Ume Sidemen, stated:

“The 7th anniversary celebration is not only a moment to reflect on our achievements but also an opportunity to share and give back to the community around us. Through the House Renovation Program, we hope to help create a more livable environment and support the well-being of the Sidemen community.”

The renovation process was carried out collaboratively between the Wapa di Ume Sidemen internal team and local residents, reflecting the spirit of mutual cooperation (gotong royong) that serves as a core value in this program’s implementation. As part of this CSR initiative, Wapa di Ume Sidemen selected Ibu Jati, a local resident of Sidemen, as the beneficiary.

Ibu Jati, who earns a living by selling canang (Balinese offerings) at the local market and lives with her child, now has a new, safer, and more comfortable home. The renovation took approximately 1.5 months to complete, with total funding exceeding IDR 50 million, excluding additional material donations contributed by guests, staff, and the Wapa di Ume Sidemen team.

As a gesture of gratitude, a “Melaspas Alit” ceremony was held to bless and inaugurate the newly renovated house for Ibu Jati.

Through this initiative, Wapa di Ume Sidemen reaffirms its commitment to being a resort that not only focuses on providing exceptional hospitality experiences for its guests but also plays an active role in supporting social development and environmental sustainability within the Sidemen community.
